Current Activities

I am currently working as a researcher for the Department of Education. My research focuses on collaboration between vocational education and training and working life.

My research interest also focuses on intercultural education and immigrant training in the area of vocational training. In my PhD disseration I studied and developed an intervention called the Culture Laboratory, which is an application of the generic Change Laboratory method. The Culture Laboratory created a learning space in which teachers and students reflected on and analyzed tensions and contradictions, and expansive possibilities in their own learning.

I am also currently involved in a project called "Opening up Pathways to Competence and Employment for Immigrants in Finland" (OPCE) funded by the Academy of Finland and coordinated by University of Jyväskylä.

Short Biography

My professional background is in health care and I worked as a lecturer in nursing and public health before entering research work.
