Welcome to Neothemi Finland! The aim of the Neothemi project is to develop a new concept of museum - 'virtual museum' - making use of the potential of the Internet. It is an attempt to create, at a European level, a common platform for Cultural Heritage, which could increasingly support information exchange among partners whose expertice range from research-based universities, resource and teacher-training centres, museums to schools and colleges. The network will benefit the following target groups: students and teachers in schools, libraries, cultural centres, museums, universities research and training centres. Our emphasis in the Neothemi project as the Finnish partner is on methods of recognising cultural heritage, redeveloping content of cultural heritage, and facilitating dialogue between cultural heritage and people, in the virtual world also. The main theme of the Finnish thematic pavilion is ´Communication and Interaction´. The subthemes are following: 1) Buildings, nature and the environment 2) The Kalevala - the Finnish national epic; 3) Play, games, and toys; 4) Celebrations.
